Cultural references
- The first horror film Maggie looks at resembles a scene from a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie.
Continuity
- Maggie is also shown to have an interest in violent programming in the comic story Maggie's Crib 1, where she watches a cop show.
- Like father, like daughter: Maggie quite possibly inherited her fondness for channel-surfing from Homer, who has been seen clicking his way through shows on several occasions. Two notable examples occur in the television episodes "Bye, Bye, Nerdie" and "Million-Dollar Abie".
