Cultural references
- Homer mentions Obamacare.
Trivia
- This short precedes the episode "Adventures in Baby-Getting". The one change made is when Homer pulls the lever, Patty falls down the tube and not Ned. Also, the scenes after that in the short are cut.
Continuity
- The short is very similar to the opening sequence of "Treehouse of Horror XIX" and reuses some footage from it. However, the speech is different and there is a different voting booth scene and ending.
Goofs
- Alice Glick is seen in the short, despite the fact she is dead in the episode "Replaceable You" from season 23.
