The team plays at the Double-A level[1] and is often shown as drastically underfunded and struggling in competition. However, the team has also been shown to play in the Major League.[2] They had a record 26-game losing streak.[3] Their home games are played at the Springfield War Memorial Stadium (which Homer Simpson simply calls "Springfield Stadium"),[3] Duff Stadium,[1] and Isotope Stadium.[4] The Isotopes name is most likely in reference to the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Homer was the Isotopes mascot for a brief period.[3] At various points, the team has been owned by Antoine Tex O'Hara,[3] the mafia,[1] and the Duff Corporation.[1]
