Mercury is the planet closest to the Sun in the solar system.
History
Bart was once stuck in a cupboard at school where he memorized the order of the planets in the solar system, including Mercury.[1]
There is a "Mercury 7 Astronauts" poster in Lisa's bedroom.[2]
