Synopsis[edit]
- The Simpsons prepare to have a barbecue to celebrate Independence Day, but they are out of charcoal.
Plot[edit]
It is Independence Day and the Simpson family are preparing for their barbecue to celebrate the holiday. While Homer is asked to light the barbecue, Patty and Selma talk about the previous year's barbecue, where Homer forgot to buy charcoal starter. Homer tells the twins that he has plenty of charcoal starter, but when he goes to light the barbecue, he finds that he's all out. Homer tells Marge that he's going to the store to buy mustard and runs to the Kwik-E-Mart. However, Apu is all out of charcoal. Homer returns home and he, Bart, and Lisa get Ned's barbecue from their house to use. Bart pours starter fluid on the barbecue, despite Lisa trying to warn him and Homer that that's not how you light a gas barbecue.
