Lisa thinks that Valentine's Day stinks, because everyone has a valentine execept her. But when she opens her locker, she finds a love letter to her. She decides to find out who sent it. Lisa puts on her Junior C.S.I. Kit and decides to get help from Willie, Doris and Nelson. Nelson examines the message, and believes that whoever sent the card is the recent victim of an Indian rug burn. Lisa goes to talk to Kearney and Jimbo, and they tell her that they have attacked Milhouse today. Milhouse tells Lisa and Nelson that he didn't write the card, because Lisa has turned him down since pre-school and he wants to save himself. Lisa then asks Doris if she has noticed something, and she has: whoever wrote the card ate the jambalaya. She gives Lisa a list of the students who ate it. Lisa discovers that only one student matches Nelson's results, and it's Martin. However, Martin says that he has not left the school gym since he came to school, because they won't let him pass the fourth grade until he passes the presidential fitness test. Martin tells Lisa that he did not eat lunch today either, because he dropped the tray. Lisa then goes to Willie to check the fingerprint on the card, which matches only one person: Ralph. Ralph says that the card is not from him; he was just told to put it in Lisa's locker. Lisa becomes angry, because she has not yet figured out who sent the valentine. Bart comes and confesses that it's from him. He admits that he is not in love with her, but did what all big brothers are guilty of. He explains that his bad handwriting was caused by Nelson, who gave him an Indian rug burn in the morning, and the smell of the food was caused by Martin dropping his lunch tray. Bart apologizes to Lisa, who says that it was nice but she now realizes that she did not get a valentine. Bart says that it could be worse, and Otto Mann and the students start to laugh at the fact that Bart is Lisa's lover. Lisa tells Bart that she wants to forget this day.
