Nightmare Cafeteria Rating[edit]
I wanted to discuss the rating of this episode because of "Nightmare Cafeteria", the third and final skit of this episode. The abandoned Simpsons Wikia has a whole section on the skit: link. It states the following:
- This skit is the most graphic moment of The Simpsons. (pointless)
- Direct quote: "This episode is rated PG in the UK, in spite of being more graphic than the 12-rated 'Treehouse of Horror X'"
- This episode was once TV-PG but was re-rated TV-14 in America. Contrarily, it stated to be rated TV-PG on Amazon and IMDb. Some of the scenes, I believe, should have the episode be given a TV-MA rating for its morbid themes (like the Springfield Elementary students being locked in cages).
- The episode is rated M (not to be confused with MA15+, practically a duplicate rating) on Australia's Fox 8 channel. The rating says that it's recommended for mature audiences & even allows the F-bomb to be used (Source: Wikipedia).
