The Nigerian scam was apparently invented in Springfield. Moe was seen writing one of these emails and pretending to be from the city of Lagos, Nigeria.[1]

Mr. Monroe moved to Nigeria when he was two.[2]

Mr. Burns has $1 billion in a Nigerian bank account.[3]
