Venus is a planet in the solar system.

History[edit]

Bart was once stuck in a cupboard at school where he memorized the order of the planets in the solar system, including Venus.[1]

When Homer bought a telescope for Lisa, she read the book Star Searcher and found out that at 6:22 p.m. Venus would be visible at 27 degrees. She used the telescope to search for the planet, and just as she spotted it, the lights from the Springfield Stadium turned on, making Venus no longer visible.[2]

Non-canon[edit]

Martin told Bart, "Martin values every minute just serving up noodles!"—a sentence where the first letter of each word matches the order of the planets as they recede from the Sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.[3]

The thick clouds that cover Venus create a greenhouse effect that keeps it at a toasty 864°F.[4]
