Shady Oaks is a cemetery in Springfield. The people buried at the cemetery all died of cholera.

When the graves at Shady Oaks were being dug up to replace the cemetery with the Cholera Pit Fashion Plaza, a coffin was found to contain two bodies. When the police were called to investigate, they discovered a business card for Simpson and O'Donnell Detective Agency on one of the skeletons and assumed that it was a murder linked to Abraham Simpson.

Eventually, the second body was identified as that of Harold Baumgartner, a business card printer in Springfield.
