Comic Information
|
Radiation Dude is a comic book series sold at The Android's Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop. It is a clone of the popular Radioactive Man comic book series.
History[edit]
Radiation Dude can be seen on a rack of comics at The Android's Dungeon. When Bart comments that all the new superheros suck, Milhouse contends that the only good one is Radiation Dude. Bart then goes on to explain that Radiation Dude is nothing more than a cheap imitation of Radioactive Man, citing his clever catchphrase, "Up and atom!" whereas Radiation Dude's catchphrase is simply "Up and let's go." The character is very similar looking to Radioactive Man, the only major difference between the two being the color scheme of their costumes.[1]
Springfield children and Shelbyville children competed over comic books, each clutching their favorite issues while additional comics flew through the air and lay scattered across the ground. Among the titles in circulation were Radioactive Man, Radiation Dude, Itchy & Scratchy, Captain Squid, Duck!, Leopard Lady, Li'l Kneesocks, and PB+J, as the children argued and struggled to claim the books for themselves.[2]
Behind the Laughter[edit]
The comic is a reference to the fact that most good comics spawn lousy imitations.
