The Alkali Flats is a landmark in the Springfield Badlands in Springfield.
History[edit]
After Springfield agreed to shut down all television broadcasts in response to Sideshow Bob's nuclear threat, Krusty the Clown used the facility to resume broadcasting through the Emergency Broadcast System, believing he would become the city's only television personality. When Sideshow Bob discovered that television had survived despite his ultimatum, he flew to Alkali Flats and attempted to destroy the station by crashing an aircraft into it. Krusty escaped the attack, the crash failed to kill him, and Sideshow Bob was subsequently captured, bringing the crisis to an end.[1]
