The Shelbyville Nuclear Power Plant softball team or Shelbyville Nuclear Power Plant Gladiators is a team that represents Shelbyville Nuclear Power Plant in the city softball league.
History[edit]
The team's original lineup consisted of a number of unknown players. In the final game, the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant hit nine home runs. In the bottom of the ninth, it was a tie game with bases loaded and two outs. Burns sent Homer in to pinch hit. Burns went over the signals with Homer but only confused him. When he stepped up to the plate, Homer became distracted by Burns' signals and got hit in the head by a pitch. Because the rules stated that a hit batter got to take a base, the power plant scored a run and won the game and the pennant.
