TV Show Information
|
Storage Battles is a show that Homer and Lisa started watching when they were looking for something to watch on TV.
History[edit]
In the show people buy old storage units and try to sell the items inside them. The TV show convinced Homer to buy an old storage unit, which contained some of Grampa's old stuff.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
Storage Battles is a parody of Storage Wars.
The “Pro Bayonet Appraiser” character in this episode appears to parody antique and firearms appraiser Jeff Taverner, who was credited as an on-screen appraiser in Storage Wars Season 2, Episode 29 (“Hook, Line and Sucker,” originally aired January 17, 2012). The scene in The Simpsons mirrors a similar sequence from that episode, in which a storage unit find is brought to Taverner for evaluation. The character’s physical appearance and role as a militaria specialist also resemble Taverner’s on-screen persona.
