Bart Simpson's Day Off is a Bart Simpson story that appears in Bart Simpson #5.

Plot

Bart persuades Milhouse to skip school with him. After drinking Squishees at the Kwik-E-Mart, the boys spot Leopold, who is working as truant officer. Leopold chases them and they hide in a vintage clothing shop. In the shop, they dress up in diguises (resembling Sonny and Cher) that fool Leopold. When Barney points them out, Leopold chases them again. They get caught up in a parade and Abe Simpson nearly runs over Bart with his mini-car. The parade arrives at school and Bart claims that he and Milhouse are official Sonny and Cher impersonators. They are caught out when Leopold tells Principal Skinner he saw the boys at the Kwik-E-Mart, which wasn't on the parade route. They are given a month's detention.
