Along the way, Mabel saw herself and Virgil on a "MISSING" poster, and figured that they would most definitely be found because of Mabel's large hair. They then happened on Abraham Lincoln in the road, and when he saw their problem, Lincoln said she could wear his tall hat to hide her hair. When Mabel put it on, she asked how she looked. Lincoln said that she looked like a pot-bellied stove, and Mabel gave him a dirty look. Lincoln then defended himself by saying "Hey, hey. Honest Abe."

Suzanne is a witch who lives in a Gingerbread House.

After Bart and Lisa were thrown into the Deep Dark Woods, they found their way to the Gingerbread House. At first, Lisa wanted to look up the house in her copy of Grimms' Fairy Tales, but the offer of free candy from Suzanne was enough for her and Bart to enter the house. Soon, the two of them were chained up, with Bart being force fed sweets and Lisa being made to clean the house. Meanwhile, Homer returned home without the kids, and Marge made him go and look for them.

While Bart was eating, Lisa pointed out that Suzanne was only fattening him up so she could eat him, but Bart didn't care. As Bart and Lisa spoke, Suzanne entered the room again and told them to stop chattering and told Lisa to get back to sweeping as the house was filthy. Bart asked why she cared as it wasn't like she had a boyfriend. Suzanne became defensive and said that she did have a boyfriend called George.
