How Marge Got Her Curtains Back is a comic story first printed in Simpsons Comics #69.
Synopsis[edit]
- After the kitchen's corncob curtains are destroyed in the sink's garbage disposal, Marge, Homer, and Santa's Little Helper go to Ogdenville to find more corncob-patterned fabric.
Plot[edit]
In the kitchen, the corncob curtains have gotten caught in the sink's garbage disposal, and Homer tries to pull them out. The curtains end up ripped apart, and Marge decides to sew new ones. When she goes to the attic to find the fabric, she finds they don't have enough to sew new curtains, so she decides to order some more. Homer asks what the hurry is because they're just decoration, but then he and Marge see several people and a cow staring through their kitchen window. Meanwhile, Homer is looking for chocolate-flavored beer, which Marge says doesn't exist.
Two weeks later, Marge receives the fabric, only to find that it's the wrong pattern. Another two weeks later, she receives more fabric with the wrong pattern. Two weeks after that, she receives a model of a Corn Palace instead. Meanwhile, Homer works on creating a chocolate beer. Annoyed at still not having the fabric she wants, she takes Homer and Santa's Little Helper to We've Got Weaves in Ogdenville.
At We've Got Weaves, Marge still can't find any corncob-patterned fabric, so she asks the employee if they have any. Unbeknownst to Marge, "corncob" is the code word to gain access to the Ogdenville Black Market, accessed through a hatch in the floor of the shop. The employee hands Marge the instructions for the Black Market as an FBI agent tries to arrest Homer, thinking that he's an employee. Scared by this, Homer throws his chocolate beer in the air as the shop's actual employee confronts the agent, and they start shooting each other. In the chaos, Homer, Marge, and Santa's Little Helper find the hatch to the Black Market and enter it. In the Black Market, Homer finds bottles of Uncle Leon's Old Fashioned Choco-Beer, and Marge finds Felonious Fabrics, which sells the fabric she wants. Marge buys the whole roll of the fabric.
Back at home, Marge has fixed the curtains and made outfits for the whole family from the remaining fabric while Homer enjoys his chocolate beer.
