Mr. Burns and Smithers went to the store when they were in search of a present for Homer Simpson. There was a pool table there that Smithers liked, but Mr. Burns said that he didn't want to turn Homer's home into a "saloon".[1]

During the Space Mutants invasion, the store remained open as the Springfield Shopping Mall became one of the aliens' primary targets.
