Fact or Affliction is a comic story first printed in Bart Simpson's Joke Book. The story was remade into The Simpsons Comic Strips story Reality TV.
Synopsis[edit]
Plot[edit]
Bart is reading an issue of Radioactive Man when he asks Homer, "if a man got exposed to radiation in real life, would he get super powers?" Homer says that depends on if you'd consider baldness a superpower. Bart then asks if it would be possible to survive with a jagged shard of metal stuck in your head. Homer says that he knew a guy who had that happen to him once, but then remembers that it was actually a hot, gooey marshmallow stuck to the roof of his mouth, and he didn't die, but it did make him talk funny. Homer then tells Bart that stuff he reads in comic books is just a bunch of phony baloney, and he needs a healthy dose of reality from television.
