The historical region of Transylvania (associated with vampires because of the Count Dracula legend) is within modern-day Romania.

On Nationwide Public Radio's Verbal Tea program host Amy Levine-Gonzalez mentions director Mladzieul Klernt won the Romanian Film Festival's prestigious "Golden Bucket".[1]

The Romanian flag is seen at the 2010 Winter Olympics.[2]

Krusty, in financial troubles, decides to produce foreign versions of his show, but then he becomes the least popular Krusty in the world. When Krusty inquires about Romanian Krusty, his agent says, "What, you mean President-for-life Krusty?"[3]

The Monroe family have a book from Romania.[4]
