Production
- The spotting session occurred on November 22, 1989, and as you'd expect, was the first for the show. It took place in Sam Simon's office, with James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, composer Richard Gibbs, music editor Chris Ledesma and supervising producers Jay Kogen and Wallace Wolodarsky. The next episode, "Bart the Genius", was also spotted at this time.[1]
