The Springfield Mafia is an Italian-American Mafia crime syndicate based in Springfield.

For many years, an uneasy peace between the Springfield Mafia and the Prussian Mob existed. To keep this peace, the leaders of both gangs swapped their youngest children as collateral. Fatso Antonio D'Amico, the underboss before Fat Tony, sent Tony to live with Wilhelm von Wonthelm, leader of the Prussian Mob. While living with them, Tony became close to Wilhelm and ended up receiving the Prussian Mob's secret recipe for Gewalteintopf: The Stew of Violence. After their fathers' deaths, Fat Tony and Maximillian von Wonthelm took over leading their gangs, and they continued the tradition of swapping their youngest children.[1]
