Marge was worried about Bart's poor academic performance. Since she had already tried everything to fix the boy, Marge looked for parenting advice on Oogle, ending up on Dr. Hoffman-Roth's website. Later, Homer and Marge attended a talk by Clarity Hoffman-Roth, where she promoted her book, The Myth of the Imperfect Child. The book is against low self-esteem and recommends parents give their kids certificates, ribbons, and trophies for achieving very simple tasks or doing absolutely nothing.
