The 1001 Costumes of Bartman is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #50.
Plot[edit]
Milhouse suggests to Bart that he obtain additional costumes for his Bartman alter ego. After creating some new designs that will allow him to adapt to different conditions, Bart and Milhouse go to Springfield Elementary during after hours to sew them together.
Bart comes to the realization that he will always need all of his costumes with him as there is no way of predicting what dangers he will end up in. One day at school where he is wearing all of his costumes, a fire breaks out. Bart refuses to leave until he rescues all the hamsters, but collapses from dehydration while trying to strip down to his biohazard costume.
Bart is hospitalized for a week and fears for the town's safety while he is absent. He is forced to use a last resort: sending Milhouse to do his superhero duties for him.
