The Usual Suspect is a premium questline in The Simpsons: Tapped Out. It was introduced in the Level 59 content update. It requires Molloy to be obtained.

Dialogue[edit]

Pt. 1[edit]

After tapping on Molloy's exclamation mark Perhaps coming back to the town I robbed blind wasn't the wisest idea. Especially with this post-explosion layout, which seems like it was done by someone of farm animal-level intelligence. How can I rob places when I can't find them? But I'm always up for a challenge. And becoming the first to loot a town AND its rebuilt version will definitely be a challenge! Before starting, however, I need to grab some dinner. Task: "Make Molloy Eat a 3pm Early-Bird Dinner at Luigi's". The job takes place at Luigi's and takes 60 minutes. Quest reward: 100 and 10

After tapping on Molloy's exclamation mark Help! Police! The cat burglar is back! He's gonna cat burgle me! So much for my assumption that no one in the nursing home would remember anyone they hadn't seen in more than a day. Help! Police! The cat burg- We know. We just put him in handcuffs. In front of you. I have to admit, Molloy. I'm totally shocked. That I'd return to Springfield? No, that Grampa Simpson said something that actually turned out to be true. No reports of anything missing from the town, Chief. *sigh* Well, I guess we gotta take off those cuffs and let you go. Where are those keys... Sorry, I stole them. Couldn't resist. Task: "Make Wiggum Let Molloy Go". The job takes place at the Retirement Castle and takes 3 hours. If Grampa is owned: Task: "Make Grampa Call 911 to Report Cat Burglar is Back". After tapping on Molloy's exclamation mark So, Chief, has the crime rate fallen since I've been locked up? What the--? Why are you in that cell? I escaped in. To show you that Springfield's got a crime problem even with me out of the picture. Well, crime HAS been up recently. And every year since I've been on the force. Look, I feel bad for my past transgressions, and want to help you. It takes a criminal to know a criminal! Well we DO have a lot of cold cases. Tell you what -- we'll make you Special Investigator Molloy. But you don't get the full pension benefit! You only get a $250,000 a year pension benefit. Task: "Make Wiggum Give Molloy a Special Investigator Badge". The job takes place at the Police Station and takes 4 hours. Task: "Make Molloy Park Squad Car in Red Zones for Kicks". The job takes place at the Police Car, S.W.A.T. Van, Crashed Police Car, or Police Station and takes 4 hours. Quest reward: 100 and 10

After tapping on Molloy's exclamation mark Hi, would you mind if I had a look inside your house? You're that cat burglar guy! No way! Well I'm also now that Special Investigator guy, so you don't have a choice. They hired YOU as a Special Investigator? Why? Because there are burglars on the loose in Springfield! See, look, your MyPad is gone! Hey! That was here when you came in! Darn it, the burglar must've snuck in while we were talking. Don't worry, I'll find him! Task: "Make Special Investigator Molloy "Find the Burglar"". The job takes place at the Simpson House and takes 8 hours. Quest reward: 100 and 10

Pt. 5[edit]

After tapping on Molloy's exclamation mark It seems my plan to re-rob Springfield had one minor flaw -- there's still no pawn shop to sell my goods! Who would build a monorail before a pawn shop? Way to service your low income community. But there IS a jewelry store... Looks like like I might be needing that cubic zirconia after all. Task: "Make Molloy Sneak Into the Museum". The job takes place at the Springfield Museum and takes 60 minutes. Quest reward: 100 and 10

Pt. 6[edit]

After tapping on Molloy's exclamation mark Special Investigator Molloy, I have some news on the museum robbery. Oh, the one where someone stole the cubic zirconia and 16 priceless paintings? I think it was 15. It was 16. Well as you know, there were no suspects... But then Sarah happened to be reading some hoity-toity art magazine, and they listed Room 213 of the Springfield Retirement Castle as #7 on the list of the "World's 10 Greatest Art Collections." I made it? Yesssss!!!! You're about to make another list - "Top 10 Longest Sentences at Springfield Penitentiary." Task: "Make Wiggum Arrest Molloy". The job takes place at the Police Station and takes 3 hours. Quest reward: 100 and 10

Pt. 7[edit]

After completing Pt. 6 Task: "Tap on one of the houses Molloy didn't hit to search it!". Message You found a donut! Go ahead, take it! It's perfectly OK! See how much fun stealing is? Quest reward: 1 and 10

The quest name is a reference to the crime thriller film The Usual Suspects.
