- The title is a play on an old slogan of Burger King: "Home of the Whopper".
- At the movie studio, one of the posters is for a movie call Welcome Back, Potter. This is a parody of the movie/book series Harry Potter and the 1970s sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter.
- The Villan in the Every Man film looks exactly like the Lizard, one of the villans of the comicbook hero Spider-Man.
- Some of the posters in the movie theater were references to real life movies.
- Alvin and the Chipmunks get Rabies was a reference to the Alvin and the Chipmunks.
- Eddie Murphy's The Fat Suit was a reference to his role as the Klump family in the "Nutty Professor" franchise.
- In the Comic Book Store hangs a poster of Swatchmen, a parody on Watchmen.
- After the man that trained Homer falls down to the ground he uses his shirt to as wings to fly like Rocky the Flying Squirel from The Rocky and Bullwinke Show.
