Planet of the Plants is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #61.
Plot[edit]
Bart is about to mow the lawn when Lisa comes out and pays him to stop mowing the lawn after she read in the newspaper that the grass is an ethical life form. After that Lisa shows the article to Homer and says that plants and algae are the only life on earth that don't get energy by killing other life forms. The story makes Homer promise that he will only eat meat and fruit that is already dead. Lisa tells that the earth needs the dead to survive and Homer becomes afraid that plants will start eating him. Bart then asks Lisa what she should start eating if she does not eat plants and she has no answer. Both Lisa and Homer stop eating everything but Marge tries to get them to eat by arguing that it is not wrong to eat plants but they not listen. In the evening, when Homer and Lisa have trouble getting to sleep and Lisa has nightmares about how she creating walking plants and Homer dreams that he will be chased by plants that want to kill him. Homer wakes up and discovers that Bart got him to dream the nightmare, but gets hungry and starts to eating again. After Bart continues to trick Homer, Lisa gets in a better mood and start eating again.
