Articles with the "Image Needed" template automatically get placed into an "Articles Needing Images" category, where they'll be more likely to come to the attention of someone on an "image quest" -- that is, looking specificallly to put images in articles that need one. Just make sure you put the template at the very beginning of the article where it will also be noticed by anyone who randomly comes across the article.
