Marge saw the book in [[The Old Springfield Book Nook]] and bought it for [[Lisa]], who she thought would enjoy it because it was her favorite childhood book. That night, Marge started to read it to Lisa only to find that the book was a lot more offensive than she remembered. Marge then had a dream where Heloise Hodgeson Burwell told Marge to edit the book for Lisa so she could enjoy it. Marge did so but Lisa told Marge that there was no point to the book since [[Clara]], the main character of the book, was perfect so she wouldn't go through an emotional journey to improve herself.

When reading the book, Marge imagined [[Conor]], one of the characters in the book, speaking to her.

== Plot ==
In the book, Clara, an English girl who was being raised in South America, was in the garden with her servants. She told one of her servants to clap a rhythm for her to dance to and threatened to lash him if he didn't mind the rhythm. Later, her father was killed by a local banana picker and Clara baptized savages without their permission.

After this, Clara was an orphan and was sent to live with her lonely uncle. She then met [[Conor]], who was feeble-witted and drunk. When Marge got to this part of the book, she stopped reading it and decided to rewrite the book to make it less offensive.

In Marge's rewritten version of the book, Clara was a cisgendered girl who lived in South America. She rescued wild horses and net neutrality.
