After leaving the convention, Bart repeatedly asked Homer for $100, but [[Homer]] refused. Determined to buy the comic, Bart started looking for ways to gather the money.

Bart searched around the house for loose change, cashed in bottles at the [[Kwik-E-Mart]], and eventually traded his Bolivian coin collection for [[America]]n money to help reach his goal.
