The '''Springfield Fishing Derby''' is an annual fishing tournament held in [[Springfield]]. The event was sponsored by [[Duff Camo]].

== History ==
[[Abraham Simpson]] had won the Springfield Fishing Derby for twenty years running, before he retired from the competition. He wanted [[Homer]] to take over winning the competition because he passed the Simpson fishing gene down to him. During the competition, Homer struggled to catch a fish and managed to hook himself. Homer then managed to capsize the boat, but flipped it over again. When it flipped, Homer had caught a fish on the boat. Homer's fish weighed the heaviest so he won the competition. Someone then put a [[Happy Hood]] on Homer's fish.

When Homer got home and went to prepare the fish, he found that Bart had stuffed it with marbles, which is what led to it winning.
