 [[Homer]] decides he wants his own rec room, but he first has to clear out the basement and get rid of the [[Olmec head]]. [[Krusty the Clown]] has a gambling debt to [[Fat Tony]] and his sideshows are threatening to strike. He sees an ad for the Olmec head, which he needs for a sketch. Krusty heads to the [[742 Evergreen Terrace|Simpsons' house]] to see the head but trips and falls down the cluttered stairs. When he awakens he initially thinks the Simpson family are his sideshows and gets the idea to feign immobility.

Krusty's plan is to keep himself hidden from Fat Tony and to use the Simpson family as his sideshows. Krusty receives a delivery of tuna as a warning from Fat Tony. Krusty forces the Simpson family to dress up as his sideshows and broadcasts [[The Krusty the Clown Show (TV series)|The Krusty the Clown Show]] from their living room. Krusty subjects the family to abuse in the sketches but the show is interrupted by his real sideshows. The sideshows put Krusty through the same mistreatment that he inflicted on the Simpson family, to the entertainment of the viewers. The show's ratings dramatically increase, allowing Krusty to pay off his debts. Homer decides he doesn't need a rec room anymore.
