== History ==
During the grand opening of [[Lard Lad Donuts]], [[Homer Simpson]] stole the colossal donut displayed atop the restaurant's giant mascot, triggering a chain of events that led to a mysterious ionic disturbance bringing [[Springfield]]'s giant advertising mascots to life. Among them was the giant Professor Peanut mascot, which joined the citywide rampage through Springfield. During the attack, the peanut-shaped figure picked up a passing automobile, cracked it open like a peanut shell, and swallowed its occupants before continuing its destructive spree. The crisis ended when Springfield's residents stopped paying attention to the living advertisements, causing the mascots to lose their power and collapse.
