Three thousand years later, lasers are seen cutting the wall open, revealing a trembling, aged Scratchy, who is now very thin and wrinkled and has a long beard. Scratchy steps out of the alcove to see mice that resemble Itchy, but appear to be super-intelligent as they have very large brains and are wearing lab coats. Scratchy is startled when he sees the Itchies brains pulsing, but relaxes when all that happens is that a comb and brush float to him and start grooming his fur and beard. The Itchies are not only super-intelligent, but also telekinetic.
