+The students at the [[Springfield Elementary School]] are each given a foreign pen pal, and will do a presentation about their home countries next month. [[Lisa]] is delighted to write her first letter to {{ap|Svetlana|Pen Pals}} in [[Lichtenslava]], but [[Bart]] does not care much about his pen pal. Lisa asks Bart to post her first letter. Bart opens it and decides not to post it. Instead, he writes a letter pretending to be Svetlana. After a while, Lisa gets a response. She learns that in Lichtenslava, snail mail is lame, they fish with gummy worms as bait, they defeated the Martians in 1957 and touch ears instead of shaking hands.
