During [[Marge]]'s childhood, she believed her father worked as an airline pilot who traveled around the world. One day, while accompanying her mother to the airport, she ran onto the plane hoping to watch him fly. Inside the cabin, however, she discovered that her father was actually working as a flight attendant, serving passengers snacks, including Fig Newtons and [[Hydrox]]. Embarrassed at being recognized by his daughter, he repeatedly told her not to look at him. The incident became a lasting childhood memory and was later connected to Marge's fear of flying.
