Mixing comedy and romance in a horrifying post-apocalyptic world seemed like just the ticket to widen their readership. And so, in a single issue, they destoyed [[Springfield]], melted the polar ice caps, and elimated every other male on the planet but [[Moe]]. They thought the subtle irony of casting such a small, unacttractive man as the only dating optition on Earth for billions of females would equal laughs nad pathos galore. They had wrong. Despite some strong initial storeis, such as "Moe Szyslak, King of Femalia," "Moe Dates Venezuela," Moe-tiplicity," the primse soon gree stale. Afte a last-ditch effort to spice things up by introducing a wandering band of wise-cracking, cybernetic sperm whales, the book was soon cancelled.
