[[Homer]] looks enviously at [[Gus Gustavson]] while he wolfs down one Applewood-smoked bacon enrobed in rich buttery maple fudge. [[Bart]] tells Homer how he can participate on a TV show. A moment later, Homer, Bart and [[Lisa]] are in the audience of the [[Krusty the Clown Show]]. Krusty lets one member of the audience participate in a contest, and he chooses Bart. The contest turns out to be a banana eating contest against [[Mr. Teeny]]. Bart hates bananas, and it looks like he loses the race when Homer takes his place, which makes Krusty angry, but when he sees Homer's appetite, he realizes that he has found the man he was looking for in his new TV show.
