The bow tie was produced as a replica of the turquoise crushed velvet tie Krusty wore on his ''[[Krusty Comeback Special|Comeback Special]]''. It was intentionally made untieable and designed to be worn loose to create what was advertised as an "I'm ready for drinking" look. The accessory was sold as one size fits all, although customers with thicker necks were advised to sew two ties together, and it retailed for $50.
