When Lindsey Naegle liked the ideas for segments that [[Marge]] was suggesting at [[Focus Group Inc.]], she told Marge that she was looking for a new segment producer. Jerry was surprised by this as he was the segment producer. Lindsey then fired Jerry, which made Jerry relieved as he was now free. Jerry then left the building. Outside the building, Marge ran into Jerry again. Jerry warned Marge that daytime television would change her and she could choose to keep her job or her soul. Marge brushed Jerry off, saying she wasn't much of a changer.

During the last episode of ''{{ap|Krusty|The King of Nice}}'', Marge snapped at an assistant on the show. Jerry watched this happen and smiled and nodded at Marge before he retreated into the shadows.
