 [[Professor Frink]] talks to [[Bart]] and [[Lisa]] about his Frinkian Miracle-Gro, and tests it on [[Blinky]] in a bowl. Blinky grows legs and crawls out of the bowl. Frink is happy that the experiment worked, but Lisa thinks it's a bad idea to "alter the building blocks of life". However, Frink tells her that it is for science. Blinky starts to clone himself and gets a twin. Frink gives the two Blinkys thyrozine-inhibitor pills to get them back to normal, but they don't work. Instead, the Blinkys spawn and start to invade [[Springfield]]. Frink calls the pest control genius, [[Cletus Spuckler]], who attracts the mutant fish to a [[Krusty Burger]] by placing hamburgers outside, and manages to capture them. [[Krusty the Clown]] buys the mutated fish and uses them as mystery meat for a new sandwich, the "Fish Knish". The fish burgers prove to be a hit with customers and a money-maker for Krusty, and everyone except Lisa is happy with how things turn out.
