Bart becomes sad, his own mother hates him. Marge tell him at she is angry because he stepped on her clean floors, but she does not hate him, a mother can never hate their child. Marge then sees that all residents of Springfield are outside the house and want to get hold of Bart. Bart tells her what happened and she realizes that the liquid allowed him to spread a fragrance that makes all of those around him hate him. Bart has decided that he must go out and meet the angry mob, but Marge will not let him do it because she does not want them to go on her clean carpet so she sends Bart to take a bath.
