Professor Frink invented the Emoji Glasses because he struggled to read the emotions of people he talked to. When [[Peter Linz]] saw the glasses, he became very interested in selling them to become richer. However, [[Bart]] stopped Frink from giving them to Peter and told Frink that Peter was just using his ideas to get rich.

After Frink and Bart had an argument, Peter approached Bart and told him that giving him the blueprints to the Emoji Glasses would get back at Frink. Bart drew up the blueprints from memory but was attacked by Peter's [[komodo dragon]] before he could give them to Peter. When Frink saved Bart from the komodo dragon, Bart showed him the blueprints, expecting Frink to get angry. However, Frink was instead proud of Bart for drawing up the blueprints from memory and told him that it was conclusive, irrefutable proof that he was smart. Frink decided to donate the glasses to his alma mater in exchange for a full scholarship for Bart in the future.
