As they drive along a mountain road, the [[Crazy Cat Lady]] gets in front of their car. Homer veers out of the way, and the car goes over the side of the mountain and crashes into the trees below. Coincidentally, the crash site is next to [[Henry K. Duff's Cabin]], the place where [[Duff Beer]] inventor [[Henry K. Duff]] first created the recipe. The rest of the family isn't impressed with the cabin, despite Homer telling them that the cabin is part of history.
-[[Marge]] and [[Bart]] do not like Homer's vacation plan, but [[Lisa]] points out that it is not as bad as vaction to the ''Scavenger Hunt'' on Three Mile Island.

He plays the tape, and Henry Duff says that nobody should read the recipe for Duff Beer aloud because doing so awoke evil spirits that possessed his family, and they were coming to kill him. After the recording ends, Homer immediately reads the recipe out loud. Outside the cabin, [[Bart]] sees weird green fumes rise out of the ground. Meanwhile, [[Lisa]] takes the book from Homer and realizes that it's not in any language she recognizes, but Homer says that it's beer code. Marge starts to have a bad feeling and tells Homer to get the car out of the trees so they can leave. Meanwhile, the green fumes come through the window of the cabin.

Duff, where Henry says that in his search of beer, he discovered something truly frightening, when the Beer recipe is actually reading aloud the ancient evil, which awakens spirts that has possessed his wife and children. Henry warned the listener to not read the recipe for Duff Beer aloud before he starts to scream, and the recording was ending.

She goes to run for help while Homer destroys the recipe. However, Lisa is quickly attacked by cursed trees. Homer goes to destroy the recipe but sees Marge, Bart, and Maggie by the fire, looking completely normal. However, when he tells them he's going to burn the book, they attack him. Homer distracts them and throws the book into the fire. However, this doesn't stop the curse, and the family is still possessed. Homer runs out of the cabin and tries to get away, but he's attacked by Lisa, who is now possessed. Homer grabs the chainsaw and swings it up, but realizes that it's heavier than he thought. The chainsaw cuts through the tree the car is in, and the car falls through the ground, creating a pit that the whole family falls into.
-Homer then find the recipe book and was reading it aloud. Meanwhile the recipe awoke a green glob from the ground outside the cabin. Marge asks Homer to start the car so they can go home, but he now refuses. Homer then visit the house's wood-shed for drinking a Duff... While he is still there, possessed Bart runs him through with a chainsaw, Homer now runs into the cabin where Marge and [[Maggie]] also tries to attack him. Lisa hears Homer screaming and runs into the house where she fires a shot from Henry's spare rifle and they all run away.

They lure unsuspecting people out to the cabin and release the vapor, making them go crazy. Homer becomes annoyed, realizing that there is no beer there, as the rest of the family regains their senses. Homer becomes angry at everyone for ruining his family's vacation, because he's the only one who ruins the family vacations. He then kills all the rich people with the chainsaw as Bart says that the vacation didn't turn out so bad after all.

Possessed Bart concludes the story of the holiday was not so bad after all.
