On the news, [[Kent Brockman]] reports a hit piece on Bartman, saying that the superhero threatened Stuey into giving away valuable consumer goods. Brockman ends his report by saying that Bartman is no longer welcome in Springfield. Meanwhile, in a warehouse across town, the supervillain [[Canker]] talks to his goons about Bartman. He tells them that once he destroys Bartman, Springfield will be his to conquer.

On the way there, he sees many people talking about how Bartman is bad for the town. When he arrives at school, he sees that the school is also against Bartman, so he decides to skip school. Meanwhile, at the [[Springfield Nuclear Power Plant]], [[Mr. Burns]] and [[Smithers]] discuss the anti-Bartman sentiment. In Kent Brockman's office, Brockman's assistant, [[Miss Grant]], talks to him about the popularity of the campaign against Bartman. She wonders why Brockman is so against the superhero.
