 After the plot is generated, the writers work on turning it into full stories. After the stories are written, the artists draw the comic panels, including images of {{Ch|Matt Groening}}. Sometimes, real-life models are used by the artists as inspiration. After the panels are drawn, the inkers risk black lung disease to outline the images. The next step of the process involves endangered rainforest species being ground up to make dyes for the colors. After coloring, [[Cecil Terwilliger]] fills out all the speech bubbles, despite not knowing how to read. The final step of the process has the comic shown to editors {{Ch|Bill Morrison}} and {{Ch|Terry Delegeane}}, who reside in a maximum-security prison, for them to approve it. It is then given a Bongo stamp of approval.
