Homer took a drive down Fast-Food Boulevard for a junk food binge just before starting a new diet. Among the foods he ate was a dish he crafted himself: a pizza from [[Luigi's Pizza]], sprinkled with fries from [[Krusty Burger]] and topped off with a lobster, apparently from Dead Lobster. After putting in the lobster, Homer closed the pizza box, shook it and devoured the whole thing, box and all.

During his stop at Krusty Burger, Homer saw a drive-up wastebasket and decided to use it to dispose of all of the accumulated trash in his car. Among the items Homer threw out was a leaky car battery. Acid from the battery dripped into the ground and then onto a gas main, causing a gas leak. Meanwhile, Homer finished with his trash, lit a cigar, and tossed the lit match into the wastebasket. The match's flame ignited the leaking gas and triggered a chain-reaction explosion which destroyed every restaurant on Fast-Food Boulevard, including Dead Lobster.<ref>"[[E Pluribus Wiggum]]"</ref>

At some point, Dead Lobster got rebuilt or another chain was made in Springfield. Every year, Dead Lobster hold an Annual Prawn-a-thon, where they serve nothing but prawns. The [[Simpson family]] usually went together every year. One year, the family left Homer at home alone and went because Homer had become a social pariah. When Homer realized this, he went to the restaurant to confront his family. All the other patrons left the restaurant in disgust.
