'''Laura Powers''' lives next door to the Simpsons and is the only child of single-parent divorceé [[Ruth Powers]].

== Biography ==
Laura and her mother Ruth moved into the house next door when [[The Winfields]] moved out. [[Marge]] and Ruth became fast friends; so did Laura and [[Bart]]. After Laura told Bart's fortune, he developed a crush on her, but ended up in heartbreak when he found out she was in love with [[Jimbo Jones]]. Eventually, Laura decided that Jimbo was no good for her and said that she would date Bart if he were a little older: "If you had a bad teenage moustache, I'd go out with you in a second." 
Bart hasn't seen Laura again since then, but he has gotten over her (like all of them).

Like her mother Ruth, Laura took up bodybuilding. Unlike Ruth, Laura did ''not'' use steroids, and ended up in better shape then Ruth did.

Laura appears to be no longer living with her mother, but she's still in [[Springfield]]. Near the end of the [[Trappuccino]] incident, she throws rocks at [[Homer]] when he returns to town.

Laura and her mother seemed to have moved to Detroit after [[Springfield]] fell victim to the Financial Crisis, and their house is later occupied by a disguised [[Sideshow Bob]].<ref>[[The Bob Next Door]]</ref>
