== History ==
[[Principal Seymour Skinner]] promoted the event as the beginning of a prosperous new era for the school, while [[Lisa Simpson]] was selected to activate the new oil pump. However, the ceremony ended in disappointment when the well produced only a single drop of oil. A [[oil driller]] determined that the oil reservoir had already been tapped, and it was later revealed that [[Mr. Burns]] had diverted the oil through a slant-drilling operation connected to his own well.
