== History ==
[[Bart]] was briefly expelled from [[Springfield Elementary]] and homeschooled by [[Marge]]. Bart took an interest in the book ''[[Johnny Tremain]]'' set during the {{W|Amercan Revolution}} so Marge suggested they take a field trip to [[Olde Springfield Towne]]. The guide explained during a slideshow how [[Jebediah Springfield]] led a charge in the Battle of [[Ticonderoga]], but he is also credited with whacking a snake on the first "{{ap|Whacking Day|holiday}}" in 1775. [[Bart]] noticed a discrepancy and asked how Jebediah Springfield could be whacking a snake in [[Springfield]] on the first Whacking Day and also at the Battle of Ticonderoga as both would have been on the same day: May 10th, 1775.
